A Year to Remember
As US citizens, we enjoy the 4th and celebrate the day with fireworks, hot dogs, and hamburgers. Some celebrate with families; some alone; some ignore the day, or raise voices in protest. Let us reflect on the unusual year so far that has preceded this Independence Day weekend. We need a new vision, or rather, a renewed old vision. Are we seeking the kingdom of God or the kingdom of the United States of America? With patriotic services and flags flying, even with voices raised in dissent, it can become confusing to discern which kingdom we are truly living for.
