A Simple Faith
Sometimes life can be so complicated. People make things complicated. But in a time when religious leaders and a religious system made it increasingly complicated to connect with God, Jesus appeared. His message was profoundly . . . simple. Jesus taught that God wanted to connect with, not confuse, people. Jesus offered a simple invitation, “Follow me.” Drawing from the end of 1 Corinthians 13, we discover three words that summarize, simplify, and frame the whole of Christian existence: faith, hope, and love. Simple. These words are used together throughout the New Testament as a simple shorthand for what it is to live out the life of the Spirit today.
