Strangers. Strangers make many uncomfortable today, even many in the church. However, the theme of hospitality toward strangers runs throughout the Bible. Biblical hospitality is always oriented toward strangers instead of entertaining friends. Hospitality is an attribute of God. He structured the world and made provision in it before and in anticipation of His creating humanity. Before people existed, they were rich because God had created a home and acted with hospitality towards them.
We recognize that though we live in a very real, physical world, there is an equally real and incredibly important spiritual world. There are many ideas that we have about angels. Most of them are from movies and television. Today, many people don’t understand who angels are, what they do, and how they affect our lives. Yet, these messengers from God are all around us.
