Today is Pentecost Sunday. How ironic that Pentecost Sunday falls this weekend.
Like most hopefully, we are troubled by the exposure of racism, the justified outrage, heartbreaking violence over George Floyd’s death. We must grieve over this, mourn, weep, and continue praying. We must listen, put our foot down, and work for justice.
Can we celebrate today? Yes. Pentecost celebrates God’s voice and presence in the church, His empowerment of our mission, and the supernatural availability of the one Lord, one faith, and one baptism in which we find our unity and strength.
It's Christmas! In this series, we will explore the first chapter of the Gospel of John. What did it mean for God to take on human flesh and walk among us? As we grow in understanding, our hearts will become more prepared for the Christmas holiday and an encounter, once again, with the living God.
